Inheritance of Light @ Theatre Off Jackson (Seattle – International District)
Fleeing the horrors inflicted by the partitions of Poland, Maja Koleski makes a deal with a Noonwitch to see her family to America safely.
In this brand-new play from Amazingly Anxious Productions, Maja’s great-great-granddaughter (herself a magical storyteller) navigates the complications of her inheritance while battling her own demons and exhuming together a story long since buried. A family history twisted into folklore, An Inheritance of Light explores the event horizon between magic and science, and the gray area between dark and light where life really happens.
A girl with a cursed inheritance,
A monster waiting in the dark,
A scientist searching for the light,
A witch fighting for her legacy,
… and a woman willing to give anything to keep her family safe.
The price of their passage will haunt the family for generations.
Written by Claire Koleske; performed by Claire Koleske and Alexei Cifrese. Presented by Amazingly Anxious Productions and Theatre Off Jackson.
