Vietgone – Pork Filled Productions @ Theatre Off Jackson (Seattle – International Dist) (sensory friendly)
Playwright Qui Nguyen irreverently flips stereotypes on their head, remixes history and pop culture, and cooks up a sexy, funny, energetic romp that may be his own secret origin story.ย It’s 1975 and two young survivors (who may or may not be the playwright’s parents) meet in a Vietnamese refugee camp in Arkansas shortly after the fall of Saigon. Will this strange new land of burritos, hippies and pot allow them to fall in love?
Directed by Mimi Katano; musical direction by YUELAN; with original music by Shane Rettig. Co-presented by Pork Filled Productions and SIS Productions, with Theatre Off Jackson.
