The Wind: A Literary Burlesque – Noveltease Theatre @ Theatre Off Jackson (Seattle – International District)
Directed by Nikki Przasnyski and Shey Ruud
Adapted by Sailor St. Claire
Choreographed by Trixie Paprika
On the howling plains of West Texas, a young woman finds herself driven to the brink by the altogether too queer landscape . . . and something haunting in the wind itself.
Adapted Dorothy Scarborough’s 1925 novel and produced in association with Theatre Off Jackson, Noveltease Theatre’s production of The Wind is a supernatural Western with queer cowboys and demon horses. The novel was originally considered so strange and salacious that it was banned in Texas. Now, Noveltease Theatre brings a new interpretation of this classic of Western literature to Theatre Off Jackson’s upstairs space.
The Wind features Noveltease Company members Onyx Asili, Jesse Belle-Jones, Al Lykya, Fosse Jack, Trixie Paprika, Ramona Rhapsody, and Sailor St. Claire with special guest Peter King.
Tickets $27 with pay-what-you-choose tickets also available, here.
