Music and memory collide in The Sonata Years, a semi-autobiographical fantasia on authenticity and identity. Caught between cultures and generations, a young musician finds himself searching his past for answers to unspoken questions about love, faith, and family. This hybrid coming-of-age solo play/piano recital asks us: “We must be true to ourselves – but at what cost?” Written & performed by Steven Tran.
This performance will be a staged reading of the full-length piece that was previously workshopped at The Other Season at Seattle Rep in July 2019.
Tickets are PWYC/donation based.
