Show Talks: Culture Steps – The 5th Avenue Theatre @ Seattle Public Library (Downtown Seattle)
Irving Berlin’s White Christmas is an American musical holiday classic, which uses the major storytelling tools of music and dance. Many forms of dance are incorporated into the show, and The 5th’s production includes classical tap dance style in several of the large musical numbers. Where did tap come from? What has tap morphed into throughout the generations? During this discussion and demonstration, we will bring together experts in many forms of foot-heavy dances to share their history and show off their moves. This event will also feature a short performance, free ticket drawing, and swag bag giveaway.
Location: Seattle Public Library, central branch (1000 4th Ave., 1st level)
Free event; reserve here.
