Things to Know
The Society for Features Journalism announced its 2025 Excellence-in-Features contest winners today.
Gemma Wilson’s portfolio of arts coverage in the Seattle Times was awarded third place arts and culture criticism portfolio, among entrants in this nationwide contest. Congrats to Gemma and the Times for excellent arts coverage!
Brendan Kiley’s portfolio of features coverage in the Seattle Times won for best features portfolio.
Bethany Jean Clement’s restaurant coverage and the Seattle Times‘ Pride coverage brought home honors for individual articles.
Portland was also well-represented, with the Oregonian collecting honors for features portfolio (Samantha Swindler), beat writing (Jamie Hale), and restaurant coverage (Michael Russell).
NWTheatre’s editor was a member of the judging panel in this year’s contest, for a second-straight year.
